First, head to The New York Times game site or the New York Times Crossword app to play Wordle. Then, choose a starting word; it should be a five-letter long English word. Type it into the site and press enter, and the letters of the starting word will change colors.

Letters that turn green are correct and in the right place in the word. Letters that turn yellow are correct but in the wrong place in the word. Gray letters are wrong and won’t be in the answer today.

Given these clues, players will need to come up with a new word and type it into the Wordle site. Then the letters of this new word will also change colors. Keep trying new words and getting new clues until the word is guessed or there are no more tries left. There is only one puzzle per day; they reset daily at midnight local time.
