On October 29, all versions of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be getting a free update that adds the new Reflections feature and the Gauntlets of Strength. By visiting Sculptor’s Idols, Sekiro players will be able to have a rematch with any previously defeated bosses. The Gauntlets of Strength, meanwhile, seem to be a boss rush mode where players are given a single life to defeat the game’s bosses one after the other.

The Gauntlets of Strength will certainly push Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice players to their limit, but they will be rewarded for their efforts in the form of new cosmetics. With the October 29 update, Sekiro players will be able to customize their character with the Old Ashina Shinobi and Tengu outfits, along with a third costume that has yet to be revealed. These outfits will be unlocked by completing the game as well as progressing in the Gauntlets of Strength.
And finally, the October 29 update for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will also add Remnants, a feature that should be familiar to fans of From Software’s Dark Souls. Players will be able to add 30 second recordings of their actions to the game world, which can be used to help other players complete some of the game’s trickier areas. Remnants can also be used to leave messages for others to read as well, just like in Dark Souls. The idea is for players to help each other out, but like in Dark Souls, it seems likely that some will use the feature to troll others.
In the meantime, some may notice that the update coming on October 29 coincides with the Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Google Stadia release date. So those playing on Google’s cloud gaming platform should have access to all this bonus content right out of the gate.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Google Stadia version coming October 29.
