How to Beat Snake Eyes Shirahagi
Initiating the fight with Snake Eyes Shirahagi in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is of the utmost importance, as players can land a stealth deathblow before the combat even starts. Upon entering Ashina Depths, use Gachin’s Sugar and grapple across the water to a stone statue immediately next to Shirahagi, before one becomes fully visible to the enemy. From there, sneak up behind Snake Eyes and get the free deathblow.
To get the second deathblow, one will want to be aggressive and focus on raising the opponent’s posture meter. Do so with consistent attacks that lead her to deflect and counterattack. These counterattacks come as either a kick and gun shot or a perilous grab, both of which should be dodged before again applying pressure to Shirahagi.
Be sure to always defend when Snake Eyes launches into a combo. Her combos frequently end with gunfire, and while a gun shot can be interrupted with good positioning and timing, it is often best to simply keep one’s guard up until Shirahagi’s assault comes to an end.
Additionally, make sure to know how to get Firecracker in Sekiro, as it is an especially effective tool in this fight. Use the prosthetic and land several hits before Shirahagi recovers and executes one of the counterattacks mentioned above.
Using a combination of aggression and Firecracker, peppered with dodging and defense when necessary, figuring out how to beat Snake Eyes Shirahagi in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice should pose little problem. Just remember to fight in her starting position, as enemies can attack from afar if the battle moves elsewhere.
Unlike many of the battles in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Snake Eyes is not likely to send one running for details on Sekiro’s dragon rot cure. With the strategy above, players should be collecting their Prayer Bead and continuing their journey in no time.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
