Right now, video game retailer GameStop is offering the cheapest price for the SEGA Genesis Mini, which is even lower than the deal offered last Black Friday. Players can pick up the miniature console for only $35, which is $25 cheaper than its original list price of $60. It is worth pointing out that GameStop would display the console’s price at $49.99, but the item will be automatically reduced to $35 upon checkout.

The SEGA Genesis Mini deal is part of GameStop’s Daily Deals, which is available right now, and will end in less than 24 hours at the time of writing. Players who are interested in finally picking up this miniature console should act now while the offer still stands. Given that all current-generation consoles use wireless controllers, it is important to keep in mind that the classic console will feature wired controllers, so players should double-check their gaming setups first before purchasing.
During the release of the SEGA Genesis Mini, Sega decided to promote the console by recreating one of their ads from 30 years ago. Just like the original, the ad retained the cheesy vibe with a new version of the earworm song that adds a “30th Anniversary” lyric. Unfortunately, the new promo removed the popular “What Nintendon’t” part of the slogan for the latest advertisement, but it still is pretty much similar to the original.
Of course, given that the SEGA Genesis had a massive library of games back in its prime, it was surely a difficult process for Sega to choose the 42 games that it will include in the console. While the miniature does have a solid lineup of games, there were a few hits and misses, and it is not uncommon for players to rank all 42 games on the SEGA Genesis Mini.
