For the first time, all schools will be required to play an ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, Pac-12 or major independent opponent on an annual basis. The change was made to enhance schools’ strength of schedule.
MORE: Sporting News’ SEC icons for each school
Each SEC school will play eight games within the conference; six games against division rivals and two games against non-division opponents. The remaining four games will be played against non-conference teams. As usual, the SEC season will end with the SEC championship game on the first Saturday of December in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
