We’re different only to the extent that we’ve gone beyond the traditional limits of how we define our social responsibility. We look at public service as an investment. We believe the well-being of a company cannot be separated from the well-being of the community. If we’re not providing the community with access to day care and elder care, if we’re not providing proper funding for education, then we’re not investing properly in our business....

Sei Young Kim shot an 8-under-par 64 in the third round of Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic on Saturday to tie Annika Sorenstam’s 54-hole record of 24 under and take a commanding eight-stroke lead. Having taken pause to decide upon what action to take next, to the ire of Democrats across Congress, GOP leadership has indicated proposals are due to be outlined. Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) has suggested there will be a “handful of bills” instead of just one, with an aim to have these released Thursday. On Wednesday, he said “the goal is tomorrow to get all those bills out there.” Newsweek has contacted Blunt and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for further comment....

The subpoena targets Blue Star Strategies, a U.S. lobbying firm that represented the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. Hunter Biden, former Vice President Joe Biden’s son, served on the board of Burisma while his father was working with the Obama administration to combat corruption in Ukraine. Republicans have alleged that Biden and his son engaged in corrupt activities, but so far there’s been no evidence of wrongdoing. The request was approved on Wednesday in a party-line vote by the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee....
